Fee Structure for the International School of Kigali (ISK)

The International School of Kigali (ISK) is a non-profit, internationally accredited school located in Kigali, Rwanda, offering a Western-style education with a strong focus on inclusion and diversity. Founded in 2009, ISK serves students aged 4 to 18, providing a full curriculum that includes Advanced Placement classes, the AP Capstone Diploma, and a variety of sports and after-school activities. The school encourages a learning environment that is safe, innovative, and fun, while embracing cultural, religious, and political diversity. In December 2021, ISK moved to its spacious new campus in Kibagabaga, featuring state-of-the-art facilities like swimming pools, tennis and basketball courts, and football pitches, all designed to enrich the student experience.

I. Tuition Fees

II. Other Fees

  1. Application Fee (New Students Only):
    • Pre-K – KG: $500
    • G1 to G12: $1,000
    • Maximum family fee: $2,000 (for families with more than two students)
    • This is a one-time, non-refundable fee, payable upon application submission.
  2. Capital Development Fee (New Students Only):
    • $3,000 per student (with a maximum of $5,000 per family).
  3. After School Activities Fee:
    • Fees vary based on the activities chosen, with some being free and others requiring payment.

III. Enrollment Deposit (New Students)

  • A $2,000 deposit per student is required within 14 days of an offer being made. This amount is applied to the tuition but is non-refundable if the student does not enroll.

IV. Re-enrollment Deposit (Returning Students)

  • A $2,000 deposit per student is due by May 1, 2024, to reserve a place for the next school year. This deposit is non-refundable but is applied to the tuition fees.

V. Tuition Fee Payment Due Date

  • Full Payment (Plan A): Due by August 20, 2024.
  • Semester Payment (Plan B): The first semester payment is due before entering class and the second semester by December 10, 2024.
    • An additional administrative fee of $250 applies to this option.

VI. Late Admissions

  • Students admitted late in the first semester will pay the full year’s tuition. For second-semester admissions, only half the tuition is due.

VII. Short-term Admissions

  • Students admitted for a single semester pay full tuition for that semester along with application and capital development fees.

VIII. Special Education Program

  • Additional service charges apply:
    • Non-staff students: $5,000
    • Staff students: $3,000

IX. Payment Guidelines and Refunds

  • Payments are to be made in USD.
  • A late payment fee of 2% per month applies to overdue invoices without communicated payment plans.
  • Refunds for tuition are available for the unattended semester if withdrawal notification is given before the semester starts.
