Arrive at Kigali International Airport. Meet your professional safari guide. Drive 2.5–3 hours to Musanze, passing Rwanda’s scenic rolling hills, terraced farms, and tea plantations. Check-in at lodge near Volcanoes National Park. Welcome briefing on the safari itinerary, park rules, and gorilla trekking guidelines. Dinner and rest.
Early breakfast at the lodge (5:30–6:30 AM). Transfer to Volcanoes National Park HQ. Gorilla trekking briefing with park rangers. Trek through bamboo forests and hilly terrain (2–6 hours). Spend 1 hour observing gorillas in the wild — infants, adults, and playful interactions.
Afternoon: return to lodge for lunch and relaxation. Optional visit to Dian Fossey’s Grave & Karisoke Research Centre. Dinner at lodge.
Early breakfast. Optional Golden Monkey trekking (2–3 hours) in Volcanoes NP — witness the rare golden monkeys in their natural habitat. Afternoon: visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for traditional dances and crafts; interact with local communities. Return to lodge for dinner.
Depart for Nyungwe National Park (approx. 5–6 hours drive). Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest (2–4 hours). Spot chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and other primates. Optional canopy walk for panoramic rainforest views. Return to Kigali — drop-off at hotel or airport.
