Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Meet your guide at an agreed location in Kigali for transfer to Akagera National Park, passing through scenic tea and coffee plantations. On arrival, embark on a boat cruise on Lake Ihema to enjoy the sunset, cool breeze, and water birds including the endangered Shoebill Stork and kingfishers. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 2–3: Game Drives in Akagera National Park

Full-day game drives exploring both the northern and southern sectors of the park. Spot the Big Five — elephants, lions, buffalo, rhinos, and leopards — as well as elands, gazelles, zebras, and bushbucks. The highest concentration of animals is found near Lake Ihema in the southern sector. Dinner and overnight after each day’s drive.

Day 4: Transfer Back to Kigali

Early breakfast before heading back to Kigali, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice. End of your safari.
