This 4 Days Gorilla Trekking and Dian Fossey Safari visits the two most celebrated primate experiences in Rwanda — gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park and a hike to the gravesite of Dian Fossey at Karisoke Research Centre, where her pioneering gorilla conservation work took place.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali Arrival and Transfer

Arrive in Kigali, meet your guide, and transfer to your accommodation. Briefing, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Early start for the gorilla trek briefing at Kinigi HQ. Trek to find the mountain gorilla family. Spend a precious regulated hour with them. Afternoon cultural activities. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Day 3 Activities

Optional additional activities — golden monkey tracking, Dian Fossey hike, Iby’iwacu Cultural Village, or explore nearby attractions. Your guide will advise. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Return to Kigali

Final breakfast and any last-minute optional activities before transferring back to Kigali for drop-off.
