Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Arrive in Kigali and meet your Come2Rwanda guide. Transfer to Musanze (Ruhengeri) near Volcanoes National Park (approximately 2.5 hours). Check in, briefing, dinner, and overnight at your lodge.

Day 2: First Gorilla Trek — Volcanoes National Park

Early breakfast then transfer to Kinigi park headquarters for the 7:00 AM briefing. Begin your first gorilla trek into the Virunga forest. The trek can take 2–6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Spend a magical hour with the gorilla family. Return for lunch and dinner at your lodge.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trek — Different Gorilla Family

A second gorilla trekking experience visiting a different habituated gorilla family — new sights, new behaviours, and another unforgettable hour with these incredible great apes. Afternoon rest and leisure at your lodge.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking and Return to Kigali

Morning golden monkey tracking in the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. These rare and beautiful primates are endemic to the Virunga mountains. After tracking, transfer back to Kigali for drop-off.
