This 4 Days Rwanda Golden Monkeys and Mt Karisimbi Hike is Rwanda’s ultimate mountain challenge — a guided two-day ascent of Mount Karisimbi, the highest peak in the Virunga chain at 4,507m. Camp overnight on the mountain and experience sunrise above the clouds with views stretching to the DRC and Uganda.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer and Begin Karisimbi Ascent

Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and begin the ascent of Mount Karisimbi (4,507m). Hike through bamboo, giant lobelia, and open moorland to your mountain camp at approximately 3,700m. Dinner at camp.

Day 2: Summit and Descent

Summit attempt at dawn (approximately 3–4 hours to summit from camp). Breathtaking sunrise views over Rwanda, DRC, and Uganda. Descent to the park entrance and transfer back to Kigali.
